Spanish Days of the Week Songs

If you’re teaching your preschooler Spanish, the days of the week are one of the first concepts you may teach. Along with letters, colors, and numbers, learning the days of the week is an early years foundation for learning any language.

But with little kids, you certainly can’t just expect to print off a few words and have them memorize them. That’s where incorporating some fun songs will make your life so much easier!

Kids love music, and it can be a fantastic tool for teaching vocabulary and other language skills. The rhythm and repetition in songs are the perfect formula to encourage your preschooler not to just hear the days of the week, but to start saying (or singing) them, too.

Días de la semana (Days of the Week):

You can keep this chart handy while playing your favorite Spanish days of the week song, especially when you’re first getting started.

If you’re new to Spanish, you may have noticed two things about the Spanish days of the week that are different from English:

First, the Spanish calendar starts on lunes (Monday) instead of domingo (Sunday). You don’t want to miss that, or you’ll risk getting all 7 days of the week mixed up.

Second, when you write the names of days in Spanish you don’t capitalize the first letter.

Days of the Week Song in Spanish by Canta con Jess

Days of the Week Song in Spanish by Canta con Jess is a great choice for a lot of reasons. It’s fun, interactive, and is sung by a native speaker, so you know you’re getting authentic and accurate pronunciation.

In this song, not only will you practice the 7 days of the week, but you’ll learn some other vocabulary as well. That’s because all of the instructions (clapping, repeating, etc.) throughout the song are given first in Spanish, followed by an English translation.

Días De La Semana by Super Simple Español 

Super Simple Songs has been a favorite in our household since my big kid was a toddler, and I was so excited when I first saw that they make videos in other languages, too! If your little one already enjoys their English channel, they will love Días De La Semana by Super Simple Español, also available on Spotify.

Because of the simplicity of their songs (the name is no lie) I’ve always thought these were great videos for teaching English. And the Spanish language version is equally good for this reason!

You might be surprised by how quickly your preschooler starts singing along to this Spanish version if they’re already familiar with the melody. But if you’re not familiar with Super Simple Songs, don’t worry—your little one will still love the cute characters and interactive songs.

Days of the Week Spanish Song by Miss Rosi

Days of the Week Spanish Song by Miss Rosi is short and sweet at less than a minute long—for those preschoolers with a short attention span! This is a great option for you and your kids to learn together and practice anytime.

It repeats the days of the week twice, along with the sentence “Siete días tiene la semana” (“7 days are in a week”). Very simple and easy to learn! This is a sweet and relaxing song, too, if your little one tends to become overstimulated.

Los Días by José Luis Orozco

Los Días by José Luis Orozco is a fun song that will help your preschooler work on their Spanish days of the week as well as Spanish numbers and counting. It’s also a super catchy tune that will get stuck in your head!

Los Días de la Semana by Rockalingua

Los Días de la Semana by Rockalingua is a really fun and upbeat days of the week song in Spanish you can find on the Rockalingua website. This song has plenty of opportunities for your kids to repeat the days of the week after the singer, which is always a hit with preschoolers.

As an added bonus, you can even download, print, and color the lyrics page! Hang up your child’s artwork somewhere and you can practice any time.
