Your Student After Llamitas Spanish Curriculum…
Is Llamitas Spanish Right for You?
Level 4 Prerequisites
Level 4 is perfect for students who have completed Level 3, or have at least three years of formal Spanish immersion/ dual language immersion. This is our advanced upper Elementary level based on the standards.
Llamitas Spanish is for you:
- You want a completely done-for-you curriculum.
- You want to learn Spanish alongside your child. Our curriculum is bilingual so you can follow instructions in English (in purple font).
- You are a bilingual or native Spanish speaking family. In this case you should follow the Spanish script (in blue font).
- You are willing to facilitate the lessons. We make it easy for you! The textbook provides step-by-step, scripted lessons so you can facilitate with ease.
- You want your child to develop strong “lectoescritura”- reading and writing skills in Spanish.
- Your child can read short chapter books
- You want a curriculum that mirrors dual language immersion for Spanish. (Your child is not just learning vocabulary in Llamitas Spanish curriculum levels, but also learning Spanish phonics, literacy, music, art, and humanities. Llamitas Spanish is a wholesome, fully enriched, and cross-curricula Spanish program.)
- Your child enjoys working with beautifully illustrated worksheets and completing ‘book work’.
Llamitas Spanish is not for you:
- You don’t like thematic learning. (We teach through sequential unit studies: phonics, vocabulary, literacy, art, civics, and humanities subjects are all connected to a theme in each unit.)
- You don’t want to facilitate your child’s lessons and want an online Spanish tutor.
- You want to learn grammar ‘the old school way’ with verb drilling and conjugation charts. (We teach grammar in context through a beautifully illustrated story.)
- You want separate teacher/ student books. (Everything is open and go in one book)
- You don’t want ‘book work’. (Our curriculum levels are almost entirely screen free, and are formatted as open-and-go textbooks.)

Take our Placement quiz if you are unsure.
How long is the Level 4 Curriculum?
Level 4 is made up of 4 thematic units with 18 lessons per unit. That’s 72 lessons.
Each lesson takes approximately 30-45 minutes to complete.
We Speak Spanish Fluently. Is This Too Easy?
Actually our program is very popular amongst native and heritage Spanish speakers because we provide bilingual scripted lessons (read the blue ink for Spanish). This allows you to use the program as complete immersion.
Your child may already know the thematic vocabulary but will develop advanced skills in Spanish language arts, as well as civics, geography, and cultural studies.
We go beyond learning vocabulary! This is a comprehensive and academically robust curriculum.
I don’t speak Spanish! Can I teach my kids successfully using this curriculum?
Yes! But we recommend starting at a lower level. We have designed Llamitas Spanish to support both native and non native speakers.
We provide lots of support for parents that are learning alongside their child:
~ The textbook provides scripted lessons in both English and Spanish. English is in purple. You would read the purple only.
~ We also provide native speaker audio tracks, and pronunciation guides.
Everything is setup to support you so your experience is fun and stress free!
How much printing is there?
If you choose the printed version you do not need a printer. Everything is printed for you.
If you choose digital only (print at home) you will need to print:
Level 4 Textbook: approximately 325 pages (163 sheets)
Level 4 Don Quijote Chapter Book: 175 pages (88 sheets)
Level 4 Writing Book: 46 pages (23 sheets)
We recommend printing the textbook unit by unit as you go. Print the chapter book and writing book all in one go.
Each unit is about 80 pages (40 sheets). The printed option is there for you if you want to hit the easy button!
Can I get a hard copy of the textbook?
Yes! You can choose between two payment options: The digital-only course (print at home) OR the digital + physical (printed spiral bound course book + chapter book + writing book). Printed sets are on preorder and are estimated to ship in September.
Are there separate teacher and student books?
No. Everything is open-and-go.
Instructions are provided on page for parents / teachers to read. The student then completes the activities on page in the same book.
