About Llamitas Spanish
Corrie Wiik, Founder and CEO at Llamitas Spanish®, transitioned from a Spanish teacher to a curricula creator shortly after the birth of her first child.
She started a blog to share about the Spanish resources her family were using. Although many supported her journey raising bilingual kids, she couldn’t find an early years curriculum that provided strong academics for a bilingual education.
So in 2021 she gathered a team of bilingual educators and artists across the USA, Latin America, and Europe to help her create her dream curriculum.
After launching Level 1, Llamitas received outstanding parent testimonials and is now being used in tens of thousands of homes, co-ops and charters in the U.S.

1. Academically Robust
Our lessons correlate with academic benchmarks for Spanish within a dual-language education framework.
We go beyond simple vocabulary practice by teaching core subjects in Spanish, with a strong emphasis on Spanish Language Arts and Literature.
Each curriculum also thoughtfully weaves in foundational concepts from math, science, geography, history, and civics—creating a well-rounded, immersive learning experience.
2. Beautifully Illustrated
The illustrations in our curriculum are hand-painted and digitally refined by our talented team of artists—this is not your average textbook.
Our storybooks and textbooks are vibrant, beautiful, and intentionally crafted using a variety of traditional art mediums, primarily watercolor and gouache, bringing each page to life.
3. Culturally Authentic
Our lessons are deeply rooted in Hispanic culture.
From traditional Spanish nursery rhymes to iconic works by Hispanic artists, and from Latin American folktales to meaningful cultural studies, each lesson is designed to foster deep cultural appreciation and connection.
4. Open and Go
Our lessons are completely done for you. With clear, step-by-step guidance—and even scripts that tell you exactly what to say—teaching becomes effortless, even if you’re not fluent in Spanish.
Lessons can be facilitated in either English or Spanish using our bilingual scripts, so both bilingual families and complete beginners feel supported from day one.
New to Spanish? Beginners should start with Level 1 to build a strong, confident foundation.
